Kenton Black Finance have partnered with a well-established and well-respected Company in the Kendal area. This business are a leader in their industry and are experiencing a period of high demand. They are therefore interviewing for an Assistant Accountant to join their already experienced team. This is the perfect opportunity for a motivated and aspiring individual looking for their next step in the finance industry.

Your new role as the Assistant Accountant:

As the Assistant Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Manager, where you will reconcile multi group multi currency bank accounts and carry out the automation of banking procedures to eliminate in-efficient manual processes. You will also reconcile and administer VAT accounts and provide HMRC returns and an explanation of payments to/from HMRC at a Group level. In addiiton, you will report and control the record of daily cash balances for 23+ bank accounts and ensure the business communication for using correct FX rates for month end management reporting. Furthermore, your role will include the management of the employee expense policy, distributing cash expenses when necessary and reconciling expense reports. You will improve credit card use across the Group undertaking regular audits, whilst raising manual sales invoices and posting to ledgers. Lastly, you will support the Group Systems Accountant with system improvements as it relates to treasury platforms and developing cash forecasting processes across the Group, whilst also supporting and undertaking divisional internal financial audits and tax audits.

Experience & Qualifications required to apply:

To be considered, you must be possess at least 2 years experience in a similar role. Ideally you will have good Excel and computer skills, impeccable attention to detail skills and comfortable working as part of a team. In addition, you will be capable of problem solving, possess analytical skills and capable of working well under pressure. You must be able to demonstrate that you are well-organised and able to work to strict deadlines.
