Your New Role As Assistant Accountant/Accounts Assistant:
As Assistant Accountant you shall provide support across the accounts function, with a varied task list you shall add value to the preparation of statutory accounts and month end activities, ensuring the department reaches its deadlines.
Main Duties:
• Responsibility for maintenance and creation of supplier accounts
• Posting and matching purchase invoices to PO’s and gaining authorisation for payment.
• Coding purchase invoices to correct place in the G/L, e.g. prepayments, intercompany and by cost centre and BU
• Raise payment runs to terms daily/weekly
• Request supplier statements and carry out statement reconciliations to ensure minimal debit balances and missing invoices on the purchase ledger
• Post intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany accounts
• Liaise with suppliers and internal company colleagues to resolve account queries immediately
• Regular banking, maintaining cash book records and producing company bank reconciliations in multiple currencies
• Checking suppliers have processed credit notes relating to faulty goods and returns
• Daily bank reconciliations including Sage Pay and multiple PayPal accounts and several current accounts and checking for fraudulent payments on all business to consumer portals.
• Assist with ensuring the Fixed Asset Registers are kept up to date and all documentation stored with company policy.
• Petty cash reconciliations
• Assist in the production of month end accounting activities and regulatory compliance
Experience & Qualifications Required To Apply:
To be considered for this role you shall have previous experience or exposure to an Accounts department/function in practice or industry. With a proven track record of maintenance to the ledgers and exposure to month end duties you shall have a qualification to AAT Level 3 +. A competent user of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel you shall have excellent customer service skills with effective time management and prioritisation skills.
