A successful manufacturing business in Cumbria are looking to strengthen their finance team by recruiting an experienced Assistant Accountant.

With a global market reach and established for 40+ years, the business is firmly rooted in their market, recognised as a market leader in their field of operation. This is a newly created Assistant Accountant position which has been designed due to ongoing growth and future plans.

Your New Role as Assistant Accountant:

Working in a small finance team, as Assistant Accountant you will report to an experienced Financial Controller who will act as a mentor to enable skills development and career advancement opportunities.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with month end accounts preparation
• Posting accruals, prepayments and journals
• Supporting with budget preparation
• Updating and reconciling financial ledgers
• Assisting with payroll admin as required
• Credit control duties
• Verifying company expenses and processing onto general ledger
• Other ad hoc tasks within finance as required

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The successful candidate will have good grounding knowledge of transactional accounting duties including purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control as well as having exposure to month end management accounting duties. Strong IT skills are required including Excel and familiarity to Sage 200 is advantageous but not essential. Additionally, you will be a self-starter with a forward thinking approach to your work, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
