Your New Role As Assistant Accountant:

A new role in the organisation, this position is available due to internal restructure. The Assistant Accountant/Senior Finance Officer will work alongside the Head of Finance in a newly created finance department. Taking the lead on the expenditure across a multi-site operation, you shall manage the end to end PL process, coaching those in the field on the importance of implications, ensuring the smooth running of the ledger for the business. Enhancing the process internally, you shall lead on managing the cash-book, reconciliations and general ledger as well as adding value to the month end process. A commercially focused position, you shall lead from the front and develop internal and external relationships, driving through a change of culture.

Main role duties:

• Management of the accounts payable function
• Management of the cash book and bank reconciliations
• Processing petty cash claims and credit card statements
• Generate and submit VAT returns
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Assisting the Head of Finance in producing month end accounts
• Assisting the Head of Finance in producing weekly KPIs

This is a rounded and varied role, this list is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended from time to time.

Experience & Qualifications Required To Apply:

To be considered you shall have a clear understanding over ledger management and the ability to drive and coach change in process. With excellent inter-personal skills you shall be highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy. A working knowledge of Sage 200 and Microsoft Office is desirable. You shall have experience in a busy work environment and also have the skills to add value to the month end process across management accounts.
