Kenton Black Finance have partnered with a successful organisation who pride themselves on the service they offer their customers. Our client is now seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant on a full-time 12-month fixed term contract. Full training is on offer, but you need to have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role to be considered for this position.
Your new role as the Assistant Accountant:
As the Assistant Accountant, you will report directly to the Management Accountant. You will carry out the following duties:-
To assist in various month end reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, rent reconciliations and control account reconciliations within the agreed timescales.
To assist nominated budget holders in the management of their budgets by providing them with ad-hoc information as appropriate and conducting regular budget monitoring meetings.
To assist in the year end closure of accounts and annual budget process.
To assist in the day-to-day administration of Treasury Management/Cashflow Management to ensure that the Company has adequate cashflows to meet its daily expenditure requirements.
To assist in the preparation for month end closure, by processing Accounts Payable invoices, raising Accounts Receivable invoices, posting payments to accounts and other similar functions
To assist in the raising of invoices to collect income for the Company and to deal with related enquiries.
To reconcile various petty cash and cash float accounts.
To assist in managing the contracts database and analysing expenditure by supplier and category.
Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the Finance Manager and Management Accountant.
Experience & Qualifications required to apply:
Have experience working to tight deadlines.
Have amazing organisational skills and a passion for getting things right.
You’ll be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
