Due to an internal promotion, a new Assistant Management Accountant role has become available within a successful privately owned SME in Carlisle. This role sits within a stable and friendly finance function where ongoing support will be available from the Head of Finance.

This is an ideal opportunity for a career driven CIMA/ACCA studier seeking a diverse and hands on role providing exposure to the entire finance spectrum which will complement their studies.

Your New Role as Assistant Management Accountant:

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, As Assistant Management Accountant your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Head of Finance with month end and preparation of the management accounts pack
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Accruals, prepayments and journals
• Bank reconciliations
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register
• Exposure to budgeting and forecasting
• Updating and reconciling financial ledgers
• Communicating with various internal stakeholders to deliver key financial insight and advice

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The ideal candidate will be actively studying CIMA or ACCA or be AAT qualified and looking to continue their studies. You will have good knowledge of transactional accounting processes including sales ledger and purchase ledger with exposure to management accounts and month end routine. You will be a forward thinker with the ability to quickly adapt and grasp new working processes and systems. Analytically minded, you will also be systems orientated with strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Sage is advantageous.
