Due to continued growth, a new Assistant Management Accountant position has become available within a service based SME on the outskirts of Preston. With a current turnover in the region of £8m, significant growth is forecasted as they enter new and emerging markets.

This is an ideal springboard for a CIMA or ACCA studier looking for a rounded Management Accounting position with career advancement opportunities, working closely with a supportive Financial Controller.

Your New Role as Assistant Management Accountant:

This newly created Assistant Management Accountant role reports to the Financial Controller and duties will include:

• Supporting the FC with the production of monthly management accounts
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Posting accruals, prepayments, journals
• VAT returns
• Assisting with purchase ledger and sales ledger duties as required
• Credit card analysis and reconciliation
• Collating and reviewing expenses for authorisation
• Support in the production of financial forecasts and budgets
• Contribute to continual improvement initiatives relating to system/process enhancements and ensuring robust controls within finance

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

Ideally the successful candidate will be actively studying CIMA or ACCA and committing to becoming fully qualified and progressing to a fully fledged Management Accountant/Finance Manager longer-term. Knowledge of transactional accounting processes is required, with practical exposure to management accounts and month end routine. Strong Excel skills are required and knowledge of Sage 50 is advantageous but not essential.
