Kenton Black Finance are delighted to represent a reputable mid accountancy practice in the heart of Manchester City Centre. They are seeking to appoint a capable, confident Assistant Payroll Manager/Supervisor.
This exceptional opportunity offers some flexible working for both office and home based working.
This senior role is for a capable, confident Assistant Payroll Manager/Supervisor, possessing previous full end to end payroll experience within a similar environment. You will have the ability to work autonomously and will be responsible for a small payroll team in the absence of the Payroll Manager as well as prospects for promotion.

Your new role at Assistant Payroll Manager/Supervisor:

You will be working closely with the Payroll Manager to effectively supervise and oversee the efficient running of the payroll function on a daily basis utilising strong organisational and communication skills.

Day to Day Duties:

• Supervise, overview, administer payroll processes within a small payroll team of 3
• Undertake full end to end Payroll processing for both weekly/monthly & four weekly payrolls for a varied portfolio of small SME's to larger clients using both Star & Brightpay payroll systems (previous experience preferred however software training is available)
• Ensure BACS payments are processed in an effective and timely manner
• Undertake auto enrolment pension processing and RTI filing end of year processing
• Dealing with SSP/SMP/SSP CSA processing together with court orders
• Dealing with and ensuring smooth processing of new starters/leavers, P45/P46's (no P11D's)
• Experience of liaising with and dealing with HMRC/DWP and the courts.
• Processing of payroll reports including advanced knowledge of Excel (including pivot tables, v look ups etc.)

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:

• Previous payroll experience at working at a senior/supervisor/team leader level within a similar role with solid payroll full end to end payroll processing experience, processing monthly/weekly/4 weekly payrolls
• Strong communication skills both internal and external
• Proactive and innovative approach to resolving queries
• Confident and friendly communication/telephone manner
