My Client is an established Regional Groundworks Contractor in the East Midlands specialising in the Commercial and Retail sectors. With continuous growth they are actively recruiting for a Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Division in Leicester.

Reporting into the Commercial Director candidates will be responsible for managing groundworks packages including drainage, earthworks, RC frames, roads and surfacing works on projects valued up to £5m.

Candidates must have a proven track record working Civil Engineering and Groundworks projects valued from £1m - £5m and will be expected to hit the ground running and assist in completing projects on time.

Responsibilities include:

Reporting to the Commercial Director.
Commercial awareness of contracts to maximise profitability.
Preparing, submitting and agreeing a budget and to monitoring actual performance against the agreed budget.
Applying appropriate financial processes.
Supporting the Contract/Project Managers in respect of project and commercial deliverables.
Production of monthly cost and value forecasts.
Materials procurement processing.

Successful candidates will possess:

Degree or equivalent (HNC/HND) in Quantity Surveying.
Thorough working knowledge of groundworks packages (commercial preferred).
Minimum of 3 years working experience for a Groundworks Contractor or Regional Civil Engineering Contractor.
IT proficiency with Microsoft Packages, including Microsoft Excel.
Valid driving licence to enable travel to live sites across the Midlands region.
A sound understanding of construction methodologies.
Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written).
