Kenton Black are delighted to be working with a reputable independent general accounting firm in the Bolton and surrounding areas looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper or Practice Accountant.
They are 1 Director practice with circa 25 employees providing a full range or services to their clients including: Accounts, Bookkeeping, Tax and Payroll.
The role of Bookkeeper/ Practice Accountant is a full time role across a 35 hour week.
They work with a range of accounting software including Sage Accounts and Sage Personal Tax, amongst others.
They operate from a 3 story building, priding themselves on a strong team culture where everyone pulls together, providing a fun and happy working environment. They also have “Dress Down Fridays”
As a general practice they work with a range of clients from new start ups and micro businesses to larger clients circa £2m with the odd client above the audit threshold.
They currently have an opening for an experienced Bookkeeper or Accounts Senior to join their friendly, long established accountancy practice.
The role will involve preparing accounts for a portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
The role is very varied and will include tasks including the following:
-Preparation of accounts for owner managed limited companies, sole traders and partnerships to review stage, by processing data from the client’s records.
-Preparation of personal and corporation tax computations.
-Preparation of monthly management accounts.
-Bookkeeping duties using computerised accounting systems such as Sage and Quickbooks to enable the filing of VAT returns.
-Liaising directly with clients, answering their queries and providing on-going business advice. -You will be the first port of call for your portfolio of clients.
-Actively supporting and co-operating with other team members including mentoring trainees when required.
Minimum knowledge and experience required:
-Have around 5 years’ experience working within a small/medium sized accountancy practice. -Ideally you will be AAT qualified or above, but candidates qualified by experience will be considered.
-Have excellent knowledge of accounts preparation and good knowledge of taxation.
-Be confident to visit clients, assisting them to maintain computerised accounting records, which will require you to have a good understanding of VAT legislation.
-Have knowledge of a range of accounting packages, primarily Sage Business Cloud/Sage Line 50.
-Be committed to furthering your technical knowledge and maintain your CPD which you will apply to your work.
-Be highly organised, motivated, and able to meet multiple deadlines.
-Have the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships while representing the firm and maintaining client confidentiality.
-Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
