Contract Manager
Yorkshire/North Midlands Region
Sector: Commercial/Industrial Buildings
£80k - £90k + Car Allowance + Package (Depending on Level and Experience)
Based in the Northern region, to include: Yorkshire & East Midlands, with overall responsibility for the management and success of a number of commercial build projects between £5m - £50m, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations under his/her control. Also, will be required to lead projects at preconstruction to win future work.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
• Assist with the establishment and delivery of the objectives and targets contained within the Annual Business Unit Business Plan;
• Maintaining effective and long-term relationships with internal and external customers and their representatives/advisors;
• Implementing and maintaining Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc;
• Ability to prioritise and meet pre-defined deadlines;
• Ensuring the project teams comply with the Company’s Business Management System;
• Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems;
• Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability;
• Managing, monitoring, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project teams in their personal development;
• Undertaking annual appraisal for staff directly reporting to the role;
• Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement;
• Providing aftercare services to the customers;
• Directly supervises a number of project teams comprising project and site managers, engineers, quantity surveyors and foremen etc;
• Lead preconstruction teams to win future work;
• Any other duties relevant to the job role. To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same.
Desired credentials:
• Experience in a Contract Management role or similar role for a Tier 1 sized contractor (desirable);
• Experience of delivering logistics/construction build projects between £5m - £50m.
• Professional Qualification e.g. CIOB (desirable);
• CITB Level 3 Safety Course (essential);
• Appropriate CSCS Card (essential);
• High level of leadership and management skills;
• Technical experience and knowledge (essential);
• High level of Commercial and Financial ability (essential);
• Excellent organisational and communication skills; Experience in a similar role (essential);
• Previous experience as a Contract Manager or similar.
