Due to continued growth they are currently in the market for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their existing team in Stoke where you will be dealing with all taxation aspects of the client’s affairs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
When performing the role of Corporate Tax Manager you will be responsible for:-
-Reporting directly to the Tax Director or Tax Partner
-Management of a portfolio of corporate tax compliance clients
-Review of corporation tax returns and computations on behalf of clients
-Dealing with tax queries on behalf of clients
-Contact with clients to deal with queries arising when preparing annual tax returns and in dealing with their affairs on an ongoing basis
-To assist the Partners and Directors in delivering tax planning advice
KEY DUTIE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Manage a portfolio of clients and responsible for the day to day management of these clients
-Recognising opportunities to mitigate tax liabilities and liaising with Partners & Directors to implement these opportunities with clients
-To manage and have overall responsibility for the WIP on client portfolio, ensuring that all fees are raised and issued to the client on completion of work
-To ensure that time is managed effectively, with good recovery rates on each job whilst ensuring that time is charged to the client
-Meeting with prospective clients with regards to their tax affairs
-Known for a particular specialism (Insolvencies/ Academies/ Property etc).
-To meet monthly billing targets & chargeable hours budget and that budgeted recoveries are achieved
-To advise credit control of any fee disputes within 24 hours of notification
-To constantly monitor productivity
-Ensure time limits for claims and elections are met
-Attend prospect meetings in conjunction with other departments as required
-Conduct own business development on behalf of the department
-Assist the Partners and Directors in formulating the Corporate Tax marketing strategy
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
-Effectively communicate between Partners, Directors and Managers at all levels
-Maintain effective and proactive communication with other departments
-Communicate with clients in an appropriate and effective manner
-Coach and mentor less experienced staff
-Provide effective feedback during job interviews
-Support colleagues by providing input “adding value” to their work
-Make a positive contribution to workshops, focus groups and other interactive meetings
-Promote and maintain team culture
PERSON SPECIFICATION
-Qualified ACA/ CTA or similar level
-Apply technical skills to provide solutions to client via an understanding of the tax system, being aware of the due dates for the submission of the annual tax returns and computations and the due dates for the payment of tax
-To be proactive in identifying changes in the legislation and knowing how this impacts on own client base
-Ensure application of the firm’s technical standards in carrying out own work
-Regularly review work of colleagues for technical accuracy
-Maintain and develop technical knowledge through appropriate training
-Seek advice where appropriate in order to minimise risk
-Uses I.T. software efficiently to carry out work
