Kenton Black Finance are delighted to be working with a reputable and ambitious mid-tier Accountancy Practice, and the fastest growing firm within the top 100 firms of accountants to work for in the UK. Due to continued growth they are currently in the market for a Corporate Tax Senior Manager to join their existing team in Stoke.

JOB OVERVIEW
As the Corporate Tax Senior Manager the primary responsibility is to assist the Tax Partners in the delivery of the business plan and annual budget. You will report directly to the Tax Directors or Partners, review corporate tax returns and computations on behalf of clients and deal with tax queries. In addition to the above you will also liaise with HMRC and external parties where necessary, and assist in delivering tax planning advice on behalf of your clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

When performing the role of Corporate Tax Senior Manager you will be responsible for a wide array of duties including but not limited to:-

-Monitoring WIP on your client portfolio, ensuring that all fees are raised and issued to the client on a timely basis
-Meet chargeable hours budget
-Ensure budget recoveries are achieved
-Attend prospect meetings in conjunction with other departments as required
-Business Development duties on behalf of the department, using existing and new contact network
-Assist the Directors and Partners in formulating the Corporate Tax marketing strategy
-To manage a portfolio of clients to ensure that all Corporate Tax Returns and computations are prepared and submitted to HM Revenue & Customs by the due dates
-Advising clients on their tax liabilities, together with due dates for payment
-Ensure time limits for claims and elections are met
-Recognise opportunities to mitigate tax liabilities and liaising with Partners and Directors to implement these opportunities with clients
-To manage WIP on client portfolio, ensuring that all fees are raised and issued to the client on completion of work
-Meeting with prospective clients with regard to their tax affairs

PERSON SPECIFICATION

-ACA/ CTA qualified or equivalent
-Ability to apply technical knowledge to provide commercial solutions to clients
-Proactive in identifying changes in legislation and the impact this has on own client base
-Ensure the application of the firm’s technical standards in carrying out work within the department
-To review work of colleagues for technical accuracy
-To seek advice where appropriate to minimise risk
-Offer technical support and guidance and on the job training
-Delivery of tax planning exercises cutting edge transactions
-Manage own time efficiently and that of others
-Manage a portfolio o clients and be responsible for the day to day management of these clients
-Attend client service reviews and work with the team to identify improvements and opportunities
-Involvement in staff at all strategies on an assignment, identifying and providing support where required
-Demonstrate effective delegation skills
-Promote and promote a positive team culture
