An innovative manufacturing business are looking to appoint a Cost Accountant due to succession planning. This is a newly created role which has been designed to support the finance and operations teams in driving the business forward and achieve ongoing business success.
Your New Role as Cost Accountant:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Cost Accountant you will take control of the maintenance and development of the cost accounting and reporting systems; perform detailed analysis of production and spend variances; investigate and maintain the BOM register; and business partner with various internal stakeholders including warehouse staff and senior management. Other duties include managing stock within the business; advising on new product costs; reporting on profitability and reviewing product margins; assisting with periodic budget and forecast production; and fulfilling month end requirements.
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will hold a full professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or be qualified to this level by experience. Knowledge and experience within a manufacturing environment is essential and you will have a strong understanding of costing processes. Strong systems skills are essential, in particular Excel and you will have good understanding of various costing systems, reporting tools and modelling.
