A privately owned SME in Cumbria is looking to appoint a new Finance Manager which sits as number 1 in finance, reporting to the Directors. The business is experiencing steady growth and this role will be a key player in driving strategic direction whilst taking ownership of all financial activities for the business.

Your New Role as Finance Manager:

Working closely alongside the Managing Director, this role holds full responsibility for the finance function. Responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the work of 1-2 Accounts Assistants
• Production of the monthly management accounts pack
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Reviewing and enhancing existing systems and processes
• Working closely with key internal stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The successful individual will be experienced in the above duties, ideally with staff management experience. You will be comfortable with high transaction volumes and be a competent Excel user (pivot tables and Vlookups). You will demonstrate strong communication skills with good business partnering ability.
