Company Details and Job Overview:

A privately owned service based Group of businesses in Blackpool require a Financial Controller to take overall responsibility for all financial activities within the company. With a diverse customer base which includes many prestigious and well known brands, the business is thriving within newly entered markets, with ambitious plans for further growth.

This is a full time (37.5 hours) position, based at their offices located on the outskirts of Blackpool. My client is open to discussing hybrid working arrangements and flexibility on working hours will be available.

Your New Role as Financial Controller:

This is a standalone finance position, reporting to the Managing Director although there are plans to recruit a Finance Assistant to support with transactional accounting duties. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Production of the month end management accounts pack including all associated analysis and commentary
• Supporting the external accountant in the preparation of year end statutory accounts
• Supporting the senior management team with strategic initiatives and be a key player in various projects
• Production of cash flow forecasts
• Preparation of meaningful budgets
• Payroll management
• Regulatory filing including VAT returns
• Management of the sales and purchase ledger

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

To be considered, you will be experienced in a similar level “hands on” finance role with a forward thinking working approach. A formal finance qualification is desirable, but applications are welcome from candidates who are qualified by experience. Good systems skills are required including MS Excel and knowledge of Sage 50 ideally and staff supervision/management responsibility is advantageous.
