Description
A leading, reputable infrastructure contractor is looking for an HSE Manager to join their department and help support the function during a sustained period of growth, working on major schemes for National Highways. You will play a key role in managing the Health, Safety & Environmental output on multiple Highways projects across the M62 corridor, providing operational support whilst and driving Health & Safety with internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting into the Head of Health & Safety, you will be:
• Internally auditing experience (9001, 14001 and 18001) and preferably already have an internal auditor’s qualification
• Developing risk assessments and method statements and maintaining management system documentation
• Experienced in managing, coaching and mentoring personnel across HSEQ
• Comfortable from site to board level
• Attending regular National Highways meetings
• Providing quarterly gap analysis reports on Safety performance
• Vetting subcontractors to ensure competence
• Ensuring project teams are proactive and passionate about Health & Safety
You will also have:
• Construction experience on Highways England/National Highways (ESSENTIAL)
• NEBOSH, NVQ or NCRQ (ESSENTIAL)
• A self-motivated and autonomous
• Experience of writing reports
• Chairing and leading meeting Health & Safety meetings and providing insight into improvement
