Laboratory Manager

A Leading Clinical CRO based in the north Yorkshire area is currently seeking a talented individual for the role of Laboratory Manager to oversee laboratory operations.

The Laboratory manager will be responsible for managing activities within the laboratory, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hold a degree in a relevant scientific field (BSc or equivalent) (Essential)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a laboratory setting (Advantageous)
• Preferred but not required: Minimum of 2 years of external team supervision or 1 year of internal team coaching/mentoring experience (Advantageous)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Support:

• Ensure efficient laboratory operations, collaborating with departmental management to adhere to schedules and optimize equipment and personnel utilization.
• Oversee general laboratory maintenance, including procurement and stock check, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Technical Support:

• Provide assistance to laboratory teams in troubleshooting assays and analytical systems.
• Act as a Study Manager for assay validation studies, ensuring compliance with timelines and regulatory/technical requirements.
• Collaborate with the Senior Technical Specialist on method development studies.
• Conduct method development, validation, and sample analysis when necessary.
• Manage and complete necessary documentation within the Quality Management System.

Leadership:

• Manage laboratory personnel, defining roles and responsibilities, offering training, development, and performance management.
• Ensure the team's efficient performance, ensuring timely completion of operational activities.
