Laboratory manager

This is a permanent opportunity . The salary is negotiable. Kenton Black Scientific is a recruitment partner to one of the leading environmental testing laboratory based in Staffordshire. In this role you will be managing a team of chemists.

Responsibilities:

Responsible to running day to day activities within the chemistry laboratory.
Provide technical and quality training for all the new starters
Ensure that adequate amount of staff is present at all times in the laboratory
Make sure plates are read and confirmation tests are carried out/read on time
To support the Analyst in the investigation/review of QC Charts and Limit Reviews
Ensure all team members are performing duties/tests according ISO17025 guidelines

Qualifications:

Degree in science or equivalent
Previous experience in working according ISO17025 guidelines
Proven experience in using analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, GC
Proven operational experience and team management within food/water/environmental chemistry testing laboratory – happy to consider candidates who currently work as a senior analyst and looking for career progression
Proven project management skills and experience, lean production principles
