LCMS Scientist
A Global Contract research organisation which is a leading provider of analytical solutions in the biopharmaceutical field, is currently seeking a skilled and knowledgeable LC-MS Scientist to join their esteemed team based in Manchester.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with expertise in LC-HRMS (Liquid Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry), along with a strong background in structural biology, to make a significant impact within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. LC-HRMS Expertise: LC-HRMS (Liquid chromatography – High resolution mass spectrometry) instrumentation, data acquisition, analysis and method development will play a pivotal role in advancing our analytical capabilities.
2. Structural Biology Knowledge: Leverage your knowledge of structural biology to interpret LC-MS data within a biopharmaceutical context. By integrating information on protein structure, post-translational modifications, and molecular interactions, you will provide critical insights into the characterization and analysis of complex biomolecules.
3. Application Understanding: Demonstrate a strong understanding of LC-MS applications, including protein and peptide analysis, glycan profiling, metabolomics, and small molecule identification. Your expertise will enable you to design and execute LC-MS experiments tailored to address specific research questions and support drug discovery and development processes.
4. Hands-on Experience: Utilize your extensive hands-on experience in LC-HRMS to perform sample preparation, method development, and instrument operation. You will optimize LC-MS methods, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality and reproducible results in a regulated environment.
5. Quality Assurance: Uphold rigorous quality standards in a GMP and GLP environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. Meticulous documentation of experimental protocols, results, and data analysis will be essential to maintaining accuracy and reproducibility.
6. Collaborative Environment: Flourish in a collaborative team environment, collaborating closely with talented scientists, researchers, and analysts. Engage in scientific discussions, share insights, and contribute to a vibrant scientific community focused on advancing the field of analytical sciences.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Structural Biology, or a related field, with a focus on LC-MS.
- Profound knowledge of LC-HRMS principles, techniques, and instrumentation, with a specific emphasis on its applications in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Strong background in structural biology, including an understanding of protein structure, post-translational modifications, and molecular interactions.
- Hands-on experience in LC-MS method development, sample preparation, and data analysis, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency in data interpretation and utilization of relevant software and tools for LC-MS data processing and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot instrument-related issues.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear presentation and documentation of complex scientific concepts.
