Working with one of the most innovative (and biggestestest…) laboratory businesses worldwide, we’re on the lookout for Team Leaders, or “Line Leaders” to be based at their state of the art water microbiology lab close to Heathrow Airport.

As a line leader, your responsibility would be to motivate your team to meet company standards and ensure deadlines are met. You would be doing this in a UKAS accredited water microbiology laboratory; your team will be handling water samples in a highly automated facility akin to a production environment – except instead of making stuff, you’re testing (for) stuff!

A day in the life looks a little like this:

- Ensure all team members on the line are performing duties/tests to the specified quality and technical standards while maintaining the expected standard of hygiene
- Ensure line starts promptly at the start of shift and ensure workplace organisation levels are maintained
- Ensure line is stocked appropriately so that productivity through the shift is maintained
- Communicate any operational issues immediately and directly to line manager and ensure that any equipment faults or failures are highlighted
- Ensure end of shift duties are carried out
- Maintain accurate line records for operational, technical, health & safety and line manning requirements
- Ensure that daily targets are achieved through the productivity of your line
- Ensure personal protective clothing equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
- Assist in driving the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.

For your troubles, this opportunity comes with other cool stuff along with a monthly salary:
Holiday Purchase Scheme
Life Assurance (not sure why this is a selling point, but be sure to tell any siblings you may have!)
Company Pension Plan
Employee Assistance Programme (human alarm clocks not included)
Free car parking
Worldwide career opportunities

If you’ve worked in a lab already then awesome! Happy to have you apply, if not though; as stated previously, if you have worked in a production environment or perhaps another industry in which you have honed your people management skills then by all means, I’d love to hear from you too!
The salary is £23.5k+bonus and the shifts are Tues to Sat, 6-2/10-6 alternating (no night shift)

Best of luck in your job search!
