The group have recorded exponential growth since its inception 4 years ago and have ambitious, yet very achievable goals over the coming 3, 5 and 10 year plan. With offices in Lancashire, Manchester and Merseyside they are adding talent to the Finance Function with the appointment of a Management Accountant to support the Finance Director. With an exciting year ahead, the VC backed group are offering a rare opportunity for a talented finance lead to join the journey, in the next phase of growth and investment.

Your new role as Management Accountant

As Management Accountant you shall take responsibility for a range of duties, with a focus to enhance the commercial decision making process whilst managing the month-end routine. Rewarded with a fluid hybrid working agreement, there are also enhanced benefits including share options. You shall be responsible for the month-end process and also enhance the commercial analysis, adding value to the decision making process. Supported by the assistant accountant, this role will also look to develop junior members of the function

Main Role Duties:

• Review of journals and monthly transactional work by assistant accountant
• Preparation of management accounts and supporting commentary
• Financial analysis and KPI management
• Development and supervision of finance team with month end tasks
• Preparation of all grant claims to be submitted
• Embedding of new ERP system just put into place
• Set up of new companies on accounting software
• Intercompany transactions and balances
• Year-end statutory accounts preparation
• Payroll oversite (currently outsourced processing)
• Monitoring of Financial Governance
• VAT Returns prepared
• Payment’s authorisation on bank
• Making sure spending is in line with budgets
• Help with preparation on budgets and forecasts
• Recommending ways of cutting costs
• Providing FD with information to help make strategic decisions
• Insurance reviews
• Continued development of junior team members alongside FD

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:
In order to be considered for this role you shall have a proven track record in adding value in a similar role. Fully qualified (ACA ACCA CIMA) with over 12 months post qualification experience, you shall have also operated in a fast paced, dynamic business. You shall have the ability to influence others and have the system expertise to develop process and reporting where possible. With strong Excel skills you shall also have strong interpersonal skills in order to collaborate across an organisation to aid the decision making process.
