Kenton Black Finance are delighted to be working with the fastest growing accounting firm in the top 100 firms of accountants to work with in the UK. This is a unique and newly created New Business Audit Director/ Partner role. It is a completely different proposition to anything else on the market at the moment and therefore requires time and explanation. All their plans are about growth and creating new opportunities within a business that is national in its footprint and with a revenue in excess of £100m.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
As the New Business Audit Director/ Partner, 50% of your time will be allocated towards client delivery with the remainder of your time free to develop a brilliant team and also to cultivate relationships with clients. This will help to deliver for clients that they already serve and to retain the staff that already work with them within a 70 strong team across the business.
ROLE PURPOSE
-To build, develop and implement a highly skilled, technical audit offering to clients requiring quality, honest and supportive audit expertise throughout the delivery of detailed and complex audits.
-The New Business Audit Director/Partner will generate and develop new and existing OMB client relationships and be the Responsible Individual (RI) on all audits.
-To expand the audit client portfolio, develop existing client relationships and grow the service offering across a wider group of businesses throughout the Midlands.
-This unique audit service will provide support to owner managed businesses across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, construction, automotive and services with a personable, professional, and structured approach to support large and complex audits.
-The New Business Audit Director/Partner will demonstrate expertise in identifying risk throughout a complex audit and provide expert advice to ensure smooth and accurate reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-To network and develop new business opportunities across the Midlands and surrounding areas.
-Be the Responsible Individual and lead on all complex audits.
-Network, convert new business leads and develop new business opportunities.
-Attend networking and business-related events to market and sell the businesses audit services.
-Be responsible for setting team objectives and business grow targets in line with the BP
-Identify and manage risk in a timely and effective manner
-Ensure that premium rates are achieved on all advisory work
-Manage and resolve problems identified in the client’s operations, provide advice in recommending an appropriate solution by utilising expertise from the assignment team from elsewhere in the firm
-To support fellow Directors and Partners
-To be proactive in identifying changes in legislation and the impact this has on own client base
Plan, drive and lead effective and efficient audit work plans
Conduct regular team meetings to align objectives with the BP
MANAGEMENT & TEAM DEVELOPMENT
-You will take responsibility for developing the team, coaching less experienced staff in business and client management skills.
-You will provide open and constructive feedback on performance issues in a timely manner
-You will involve staff at all stages on an assignment, identifying and providing support when required
-You will demonstrate effective delegation skills
-You will create a positive, encouraging and enjoyable team ethos
-You will conduct regular team reviews and support individuals with career development plans and ambition
-You will challenge and provide ongoing support and supervision
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
-You will hold a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA) or equivalent
-You will hold a current (RI) practicing certificate
-You will have experience networking and leading complex audits across multiple sectors
-You will have proven success leading and developing an audit team
-You will have experience with non PLC businesses and complex audits
