Kenton Black Finance are proud to be working with a successful and friendly practice business in St Helens, Merseyside area, who due to continued business success and expansion, are now seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll Bureau Manager to join their small and stable payroll bureau. This role is available on either a full or part time basis - your choice! You will possess previous payroll management experience, dealing with all aspects of payroll operations and client liaison, ensuring the payroll department effectively processes the payrolls at multi intervals on behalf of clients within this thriving business. This is a varied role offering the successful candidate scope to additionally utilise their existing bookkeeping skills and/or provides the opportunity to learn these new skills within the role!
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Payroll management ensuring effective end to end payroll operations via SAGE payroll
Dealing with BACS payments
Overseeing a staff member
Overseeing and dealing with auto enrolment pension processing
RTI and HMRC liaison
SMP/SSP, starters and leavers, P45/P46
Client liaison, dealing with queries and providing services advice
Ideally knowledge of SAGE (training can be provided)
Ideally some knowledge of accounts/bookkeeping desirable - not essential
Person Specification
As Payroll Bureau Manager you will be responsible for:
Payroll management/operations experience overseeing/processing end to end payrolls
Ability to oversee/manage an additional team member
Ability to adapt with a flexible approach to work
Proactive and innovative approach to resolving queries
Confident and friendly communication/telephone manner
Previous experience within a similar role.
The successful Payroll Bureau Manager will possess strong Payroll Management experience at a senior level . You will also ideally have experience within a payroll Bureau/accountancy environment with knowledge and expertise of running multi interval payrolls from end to end, together with ideally previous staff management/supervisory experience to oversee another team member.
In addition the successful candidate will possess a friendly, confident telephone manner to deal with client enquiries/queries effectively providing advice regarding company services.
Package: to c£31K Negotiable dependent on experience + Great benefits!
