Pre-Contract Estimating Lead - CSA

As part of its ongoing growth strategy, this international consultancy is looking for an experienced Cost Planning professional to lead the CSA Pre-Contract Estimating team in its newly formed National Pre-Contract QS team. This team can expect to be involved with projects and clients in sectors such as Data Centres, Commercial, Residential, Education, Healthcare, Sport and Retail.

Overview of the role:
• Cost Planning (CSA) for Major Projects (>£150m) across all Sectors. Including liaison with and direct management of
the clients' requirements
• Assist and contribute to the Marketing of the Service and Business Development. Enhancement of company
reputation through excellent delivery of the Service, and wider communication through contact base to improve
visibility of their offering in the market place
• Alongside the Digital Lead and CSA Cost Planning Lead, this unit will be responsible for the development of:
o Pre-Contract QS Services, and Cost Planning innovation (including wider remit of Whole Life Cycle Costs, Carbon
Calculation, NOx Calculator)
o Trial and development of new tools (including digitisation of the function – Ross5D, BIM, Autodesk, Bidwork etc)
o Roll out of training to the UK Cost Managers (who will be provided to assist in Cost Planning efforts)
o Management of Cost Capture and Benchmarking, and provision of regional and national reporting across sectors

Key responsibilities:

- Business management
- Business development & key account management
- Personnel management
- Technical management

Person specification:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
• Strong technical delivery experience
• Strong experience in Data Centres and/or Commercial
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body
• Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
• Strong Feasibility and cost planning experience
• Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services
• Client facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
• Able to build long-term relationships
• Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts
• A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
• A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious
