Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks
Up to £70,000 + Vehicle Allowance + Benefits Package
North Yorkshire / York
Permanent

My Client are a well-established Civil Engineering and Groundworks Contractor operating in the North and Midlands regions from two regional offices. The company boasts 50 years’ experience delivering a range of civils engineering solutions to major clients.

The Role:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager / Director the successful candidate will be responsible for financial control of the contracts assigned to work on from inception to completion. You will e expected to run 2-3 projects concurrently valued from £5m - £15m
• Produce monthly cost and valuation reports
• Produce comprehensive valuations for future schemes
• Take off drawings for bill of quants
• Create detailed breakdown costs for each project assigned
• Cost and value reconciliation on all items
• Monitor spend on labour and materials
• Prepare cost value comparison information
• Attend meetings with main contractor clients and 3rd parties as well as site teams
• Liaise with client to ensure their requirements are being met
• Attend pre-start meetings
• Liaise with all departments on subcontractor performance and compliance

The Successful Candidate will have:

• Degree or HNC Qualification is preferred but not essential
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Experience working for a Civils Sub-Contractor
• Must have experience working on Residential/Housing Groundworks and Infrastructure
• Good Knowledge of MS Office inc Excel
• Knowledge of Blue Beam would be beneficial
• Clean UK Driving License
