Quantity Surveyor
£53k - £60k + Car Allowance + Package
Sector: Construction / Build
Location: West Yorkshire / Leeds

My Client are a well-established Main Contractor operating in the Yorkshire Region across a range of sectors. Due to increased workload and team expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established commercial team within a Leeds office.

Working within the commercial team, as a Quantity Surveyor reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be working on 2-3 projects £10m - £15m in value (D&B / JCT Contracts) which involve an array of packages including steel frames, brick and block work, externals and internals, managing sub-contractors on all quantity surveying matters.

This is a great opportunity for an experience Quantity Surveyor to join a busy commercial team within a company that have a strong orderbook of confirmed work/projects

The Role
• Working as a part of the commercial team reporting to Commercial Manager
• Working off pre-construction documents to prepare cost plans and measurements
• Placing orders and negotiating potential orders
• Work with external parties including architects and engineers to ensure project specifications
• Ensure any changes to design and understood and coats are kept up-to-date
• Taking off quantities from drawings
• Procurement for a range of sub-contractors and suppliers
• Overall cost management of the project from inception to hand over
• Dealing with any contractual issues

The Candidate:
• +5 Years as a Quantity Surveyor
• BSC Degree in Quantity Surveying (Beneficial)
• Project Experience New Build + £10 Million
• Knowledge of D&B and JCT Contracts
• Experience working on Traditional Build
• Previous Experience on Care Homes / Retirement Living / Apartments would be preferred
• Experience on a range of construction contracts
• Excellent communication written and verbal
