Our Client and established and reputable firm of Chartered Accountants with offices across the North West are currently seeking an R&D Tax Specialist to join their very busy Northwich office on a full or part-time basis and they will consider candidates who are seeking a fully remote role.
Reporting to the Tax Director, the successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience working independently on all aspects of R&D related work in a similar role in an accounting practice or within a specialist R&D practice.
This role would suit a candidate who is looking for a hands-on, client facing role with a dynamic and growing accountancy practice, with opportunities to develop and progress within the firm.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Organising, planning and managing all R&D assignments for the office.
-Liaising with clients and prospective clients to explain the various R&D reliefs available and the basis of making claims.
-Calls and meetings with both financial and technical staff of clients to enable R&D reports to be prepared.
-A strong understanding of the legislation underlying the claims in order to ensure compliance with the rules - is required.
-Preparing and supervising the preparation of R&D tax credit claim reports and costings to relevant deadlines.
-Supervising and supporting junior team members.
-The opportunity to expand your knowledge base and work outside of R&D projects may be available if of interest, but the role is primarily to manage and run R&D tax relief claims for a sizeable client base.
-Key contribution to practice development initiatives including networking events.
-Working within an existing team to further develop and support the growth of the firm.
-Building a positive working relationship with clients and the practice.
-Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal procedures.
-Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and on time.
-Dealing with any client queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Undertake such other duties that are required commensurate with the role.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
-At least 2 years’ experience working independently on all aspects of R&D related work in a similar role in an accounting practice or within a specialist R&D practice.
-Experience in the preparation of and submission of SME & RDEC tax claims
-Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to work as part of a team.
-Confidently able to offer recommendations and advice to their clients.
-A full UK driving license is essential.
