Senior Key accounts manager/Food retail

Excellent opportunity for a technical coordinator within a consumer testing laboratory.
Kenton Black is a recruitment partner to a global food testing laboratory who are looking for a senior key account manager to join their team in Wolverhampton. This role will focus on managing and all food retail accounts. This is a permanent role paying competitive salary, car allowance and bonus. This role can be a hybrid role.

Key responsibilities

Main point of contact for all key accounts and responsible for managing all key food retail accounts
Responsible for managing a team of 5 people that includes technical and non-technical teams
Responsible for providing coaching and development to junior staff
Responsible for understanding each customer’s risks and opportunities by creating customer account plants
Responsible for fully understanding retail market, trends and market analysis which allows to increase prospective customer base
Responsible for understanding food testing services provided by the laboratory
Responsible for implementing sales strategies to attract new customers
Responsible for owning all commercial sales from the managed retail accounts and raise the bar in terms of attention to detail, structure and the service offered to the customer base to maximise its full potential.

Requirements

Degree in Science or equivalent is preferred but not essential
Excellent experience in key account management for large food retail accounts
Experience in people management
Excellent experience in working within food manufacturing or food retail sector
Experience in dealing with customer queries and issue resolution.
Proven experience in working to and exceeding targets
Strong technical or laboratory skills and practices
Extensive experience in engaging directly with high profile customers including customer meetings
