Senior Quantity Surveyor - Contract Position - £400pd- Long Term - Huddersfield - Civil Engineering

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Huddersfield with travel to site as required - 3/4 days in the office per week
Working Hours: 45 per week
Working Days: Monday - Friday

Our client is a family-owned company who provides award winning civil engineering solutions. Through our dedicated integrated companies for building, rail, air, energy and professional services, they are a renowned construction focussed service provider.

Your Role
We are looking for a forward-thinking Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them. You will have a wealth of experience and be ready to take on your next challenge.

The ideal candidate would need excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships; be able to work independently when needed and efficiently organise their workload to deliver the project outcomes set by the organisation.

Role

The role would ensure all aspects of commercial management on construction and civil engineering projects are implemented and maintained throughout the life span of the project, ensuring as a minimum the following high-level basics are implemented
Formation and management of Contracts/Sub-contracts
Independent working/developing relationships
Communication
Value management
Cost management
Subcontract management
Change management
Programme management/Design management
Risk and Opportunity management
Project Reporting
Health & Safety

We are offering full time and permanent employment or a long term contract, with your days of work being Monday to Friday.

Essential Skills
Degree educated in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification
A minimum of 5 - 7 years proven experience
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to work confidently both independently and in a team
Excellent organisational skills
A full driving licence
