My Client are a large main contractor with a regional office in Cheshire that covers the North West region. The business has a company turnover of circa £90m and have circa £70m orderbook of confirmed works. Due to some internal promotion, there is a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to look after 2-3 live projects at any one time as well as assist in the tendering process and completion of final accounts on completed projects. The role of the Quantity Surveyor includes (but is not limited to) the following:
• Providing resource and assistance to the Estimating Department with tenders when required
• Handover of project tender data from Estimating department
• Compiling project budget cost data (as tendered) and formulating Management Report (CVR)
• Regular review and updating of CVR to ensure that forecasted profit/loss figures are accurate as
• Producing project Cashflow
• Creation and monitoring of Commercial Appraisal
• Preparation and regular review of subcontract procurement schedule
• Sub-contract procurement in line with the agreed procurement schedule and program of the project to ensure that orders to subcontractors are placed in a timely fashion
• Vetting and comparison of subcontract tenders to ensure compliance with specification
• Arranging, attending, chairing and recording minutes of subcontract pre-order meetings
• Control of subcontractors’ accounts on the project
• Monitoring and verification of subcontractors works carried out under the subcontract
• Remeasurement / revaluing of subcontractors works as required
• Agreeing and settling of sub-contractor final accounts
• Attendance and active participation at site meetings
• Attendance and active participation at project review meetings
• Attendance and active participation at internal monthly Cost Meetings
• Raising important issues of a that may pose a commercial risk to the Commercial Director
• Carrying out monthly valuations under the main contract, agreeing the monthly valuation with Client’s Agent/Quantity Surveyor/Architect as required and issuing invoices to the Client within the correct timescales
• Monitoring payments due under the main contract to assist payment of Triton’s invoices by the Client in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Main Contract
• Liaising with the Buying department for the procurement of materials for the project

The right candidate for the position will have 7-10 years’ experience working for a main contractor on projects up to the value of £15m. he workload is predominantly in the Commercial and Industrial sectors so experience on these type of projects is preferred
