COMPANY OVERVIEW

Our client, a leading and reputable firm of Chartered Accountants in Manchester are currently looking to recruit a Senior Tax Manager to join their already established team.

You will be assisting the Partners in delivering an excellent range of tax services to a diverse set of clients, consisting of private client individuals and owner managed businesses.

The Manchester office has a varied client base, with individual tax clients ranging from high net worth individuals, property owners and investors and owner managed businesses across many different sectors both locally and nationally.

They are also part of an international network, allowing for international referrals to be handled within their remit.

As Senior Tax Manager your key duties & responsibilities will include:

-Supporting the tax partner with tax technical work including preparing tax planning reports, technical research, ad hoc advisory work, assisting with meetings and with day to day client queries

-Liaising with partners and delegating to the wider tax team would be a requirement of the role

-Attending meetings and assisting the partners with advisory reports

-Identifying tax planning opportunities is actively encouraged and the opportunity is wide reaching across their diverse portfolio of individuals and companies as listed above

-A pro-active approach is sought and the ideal individual would build relationships over time

-Assistance with the tax compliance responsibilities would be included within the role, including reviewing corporate and personal tax returns, preparation of complex returns where necessary and handling annual compliance matters such as ERS, ATED and P11Ds

-Being proactive for the clients, attending pre year end and year end completion meetings

-Managing the tax compliance processes to ensure that tax returns are filed on a timely basis and clients are advised of tax payments

-Delegation of work to tax seniors and tax juniors which will include monitoring chargeability on a weekly basis and managing training needs where necessary.

PERSON SPECIFICATION/ ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

-ATT/CTA/ACA or ACCA qualified/overseas equivalent with tax experience overseas equivalent with experience working in a small or mid-tier accountancy practice

-Experience in managing client relationships and dealing with complex client queries
Leadership experience at a management grade
