Shift chemist

Kenton Black Scientific is a recruitment partner to an oil and gas testing laboratory based in Middlesbrough who are looking to hire a shift chemist to join their team.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for analysing oil and gas samples using analytical techniques such as GC Perform

Perform instrument calibrations and maintenance

Ensure that reported results are accurate and delivered on time in line with customer requirements.

Efficiently follow UKAS quality standards whilst performing tests

Resolve any external client technical queries in an efficient manner

Requirements:

Degree in Science or equivalent – full training will be provided. Happy to consider graduates who are looking to gain industrial experience
Knowledge of using analytical techniques such GC, HPLC and wet chemistry techniques
Ability to work independently when required
Ability to multi task and manage different projects at once
Excellent communication, presentation and written skills
Full driving License or equivalent

Note: Please note that this is a shift role that would require you to do 4 on 4 off or 6 on 4 off shift pattern including some night shifts. Due this we can only consider who are happy to do shift work.
