Are you a driven Environment and Sustainability professional looking to join a reputable and exciting Construction company? A leading residential developer are looking for a Sustainability Advisor to join their growing operation, covering exciting projects across the West Midlands. Their many years’ experience in the industry gives them an unrivalled ability to deliver new homes and communities and you will have overall responsibility for delivering the group Sustainability model.

Reporting into the Technical Director you will be:

• Adopting a proactive approach to improving performance through engagement
• Developing new ways of driving sustainability performance and leading on initiatives within projects
• Keeping up to date with the sustainability agenda, new legislation and best practice guidelines and understanding how they may affect the company. This may include developing local approaches
• Preparing reports and attending meetings with management to discuss sustainability performance
• Working with project teams and liaising inter-departmentally to implement sustainability initiatives and innovative approaches
• Performing site visits to projects to assess compliance with the company environmental management system
• Preparing guidance to assist project teams in managing sustainability
• Reporting on sustainability performance

The company are renowned for building communities, investing in the local area to improve infrastructure and, subsequently, relationships. Other key requirements for the role are:

• Experience in an operational sustainability role within the Construction industry or related sectors (ESSENTIAL)
• Degree-qualified in a related discipline (ESSENTIAL)
• Experience or awareness of large regeneration projects and/or embedding sustainability into the planning process with experience of net biodiversity gain, embodied carbon, SuDs, overheating would be an advantage
• Knowledge of of Sustainability and Environmental initiatives in these environments
• A resilient, assertive and passionate attitude
• Confident communication skills
• Motivating, influencing and mentoring capabilities
